The Song.
“You Know I Have Angels” was first written as a class project when Willough was studying songwriting back in the '90s. It was first recorded in a country format by artist Tanya Leah and used in the Canadian film "Right to Fight."
Willough always liked the melody and rewrote the lyrics and worked with produced michéal Castaldo to bring the flamenco feel to this Christmas song, sure to be a classic.
Lyrics.
You Know I Have Angels (Yo tengo ángeles)
In our world there is pain and trouble
We fight a new battle each day
We find it hard to trust one another
And we sometimes get lost on the way
But at least I am not alone
I have help from the sentinel skies
And each day I thank the Lord
For all his protective eyes
CHORUS
Yo tengo ángeles
Que me cuidarán
You know I have angels
They are part of God’s plan
And I’m so very grateful
For all that they’ve given me
For on long winter nights
I’m saved from being lonely
(Ah...)
There is no need to blame others
That only wastes more time
For pointing never solved a problem
The solution comes from inside
Don’t forget you have aid you can call on
When you feel it’s too much to bear
For the Lord will send his angels
When you send up a prayer
BUY NOW
BRIDGE
I never complain at all
The Lord looks after me
And even when bad things come my way
My soul will never feel empty (For)
CHORUS
Yo tengo ángeles
Que me cuidarán
You know I have angels
They are part of God’s plan
And I’m so very grateful
For all that they’ve given me
For on long winter nights
I’m saved from being lonely
